Week 1: -Introduction to our new Unit Plan -Brainstorm basic needs for survival -Create Maps to show us where endangered animals are located around the world -Learn about food chains and get to make our own Week 2: -Week Long Project- go to our webquest tab for more information! -Each student gets to choose their own specific animal to research and learn about and create a presentation on -Present our findings to the class Week 3: EXAM Week- Don’t worry, we will prepare together as a class! -Create digital study guides to help prepare -Play computer games that will help learn the information that will be tested -Play study games as a class - Movie Day! Week 4: -Learn about the St. Louis Zoo -Field Trip announcement -Story Day: Will We Miss them - Learn about writing a story and all the parts that are included in writing a story -Write our own stories Week 5: -Field Trip Day slips are due -Read our short stories in class -Plan our trip to the Zoo -Be introduced to our zoo photo story projects -Field Trip to the St. Louis Zoo Week 6: -Recap our trips to the zoo -Make advertisements for the St. Louis Zoo -Learn about helping preserve the environment which will in turn help the endangered animals -Understand that we can make a difference in our own community Week 7: -Video demonstration on Saving the Earth -Learn about concluding project - Watch the Last Lions! Week 8: -Test day(we will prepare as a class again) -Final touches on presentations from the web-quest -Summarize, conclude, and reflect on the entire endangered animal unit plan |
